Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Tarangire National Parks

This Tanzanian safari itinerary visits the four spectacular and understandably popular destinations of the Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongo and Tarangire National Parks, all of which are teeming with wildlife. This trip offers an option of one or two cultural discovery days where you can find out about the way of life of the people living there firsthand. There is a modest additional cost, which goes directly to the villagers. Many tourists pass through these areas, leaving only a cloud of dust, but with the unique Africa VIP Travel connections we will experience some of the local culture. Our goal is to enrich your knowledge of this part of Africa and ensure more of the benefits of tourism reach the locals directly.

DAY 3 – Serengeti, game drive
Drive to Serengeti National Park with a picnic lunch on the way, and then enjoy a late afternoon game drive. You will find the Serengeti to be endless rolling grasslands crisscrossed with shallow forested valleys. Day 7 – Ngorongoro Crater, game drive
We descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day tour within it, including a picnic lunch. That evening we enjoy our dinner and overnight at a Bougainvillea Safari Lodge. BLD
Day 8 – Tarangire, game drive: Day 1
Ngorongoro to Tarangire – Distance: 150 km (2 hrs)

You will find early morning and late afternoon are the best times to observe birds and animals. During the heat of the day much of the wildlife rest under cover. You should look under trees and bushes for the pricking ears of animals raising their heads. Also watch in the trees for the dangling tail of a leopard as it lies on a branch. One of the most striking features of this park is the majestic old baobab trees. With their massive silvery trunks, spindly branches and gourd-like fruits, they are strange and impressive trees. Tarangire is also the home of a large number of elephants and bird life. Enjoy dinner and overnight at a Tarangire Osupuko Lodge. BLD
